Rodgers and Hammerstein were a musical duo that changed the world of musical theatre and inspired many more modern composers. Richard Rodgers (1902-1979) and Oscar Hammerstein (1895 - 1960) joined forces in 1943 to create over 10 musicals, OKLAHOMA! being the first.
